Burmese Cuisine (L)
starting from $68
You’ll leave for the market early in the morning. This is where you can find the delectable foods and ingredients with which you’ll later prepare your own celebration meal during a cooking class.
Rice (htamin) is the staple food in Myanmar and is eaten at every meal. Traditional dishes in Myanmar include mild curries (tha-hin), which can contain vegetables, spices and shrimp (ba-zun), chicken (tschet), pork (we-tha), beef (ameh-da) and occasionally mutton. Each curry is accompanied by rice, a bowl of vegetables and a soup (clear broth or lentil) and, often, fresh lettuce with onions and chili peppers.
Return to the hotel by horse-drawn carriage. You will have the afternoon free.
