Myanmar Trekking Tours

Unforgettable adventures on the discovery trip to an unknown culture.

While touring Myanmar you will get to know one of the least visited countries in the world. Add your personal touches to the Myanmar Trekking Tour to deepen your understanding of the former Burma, the exotic paradise between China, India, Thailand and the Indian Ocean.

After years of isolation, the country is now trying out gentle ecotourism. Simple, clean and fully equipped accommodation is the way to go. On our Myanmar trekking tours you will be accompanied by a local guide who knows the language, the country and the people. The majority of the tours take place all year round unless stated otherwise. They take you through uninhabited areas and unspoiled, pure nature with unique flora and fauna, magnificent river landscapes and breathtaking sunsets.

Myanmar Trekking Tours in the Wild North

Walk along lonely mountain paths near Putao, on the border of China. Here, in the foothills of the Himalayas, Myanmar Trekking Tours take you to discover the bizarre gorges and snow-covered slopes of the high mountains. This region is also known for its endemic bird species. For professional trekkers we recommend a hike to the Burmese Ice Mountains at the border area to India with Mount Phongun Razi, which stretches its snow-covered peak to almost 4000 metres above sea level. In neighbouring Chin State, a paradise opens up for botanists. The huge Natma Taung National Park offers countless species of orchids and is famous for its lianas and cicadas.

Lake Inle & Lake Samkar invite you to Myanmar trekking tours

Unforgettable Myanmar trekking tours around Inle Lake and Lake Samkar further south, both located in the central part of the country, will remain unforgettable. After a flight to Heho, you will have several options to explore the breathtaking landscapes. Start with a boat trip and get to know the Intha, the sons of the lake. Here, in the southern Shan region, the first settlements of 650 BC are recorded. Rustic suspension bridges accompany you through unknown bamboo forests to a traditional wine growing area, well-preserved colonial villas line up right next to extensive tea plantations and rice fields. Stay overnight with the monks in a monastery and marvel at the 8000 Buddha figures in Pindaya or the countless pagodas in Kalaw. Especially recommended are the gentle mountain hikes and mountain ridges near Taunggyi with their spectacular views. Get to know ginger and chili cultivation and be enchanted by traditional markets. The old royal city of Bagan on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River has the status of a UNESCO cultural heritage site and impresses everybody with its rich history. Until the conquest by Kublai Khan (1287), the city was the central place of Upper Burma. 2000 partly well preserved sacral buildings testify to this historically rich past.

SANDRA VILLEGAS & YESUI ARANDA

Hello Golden Clover team,

This is long due email to THANK YOU for the amazing time Yesui & I had in Myanmar back in August! We can’t wait to go back.
The planning was seamless, and yet had flexibility to accommodate our needs in every city we visited (food, drinks or even a quick nap!). Each tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind, we even felt like for a couple of days we were among friends. All of this, on top of the amazing things that Myanmar offered! The food, sightseeing, the temples and the stories had us with our mouths open most of the time.
Truly THANK YOU, you made our Myanmar experience unique! We will recommend you to anyone that visits Myanmar.
Sincerely,
Sandra Villegas & Yesui Aranda

FAMILY REHMAN LINDER

Dear Shwe Yee & Klaus-Dieter,
Thank you for pulling together a fantastic and yet affordable 16 day trip for our family (parents and 2 teenagers).
It was highly valuable to get different proposals from you when booking the trip, leading to a design and content of the journey that could not have been better for us.
We absolutely loved everything from the relative calmness in Mandalay, the majestic pagodas in Bagan to the trekking experience in the mountains including a night in a local house. We will never forget the beauty of Inle and Samkar Lakes...

Ask the driver to drive until the traffic light at the northwest corner of Kandawgyi Park, turn into Gyar Taw Ya Oat Street and drive straight towards the Shwedagon Pagoda which is right at the end of the street. 50 metres in front of the stairway, on the right hand side there is a little wood carving shop and there you will also see our sign board. Our office is located on the second floor of the building and if you have any doubts, feel free to ask the wood carving shop for “Daw Shwe Yee”.
