Full-day tour of Kalaw (L)

You will be picked up at your hotel around 8.00 a.m. Together you will walk through the area with your guide. Many Tudor-style buildings and English gardens still remain from colonial times. The heart of Kalaw is the market, which villagers come to from the surrounding mountains to sell their fruits and vegetables. Most restaurants and snack bars are found near the market and offer a particularly varied selection of foods. Lunch at a local restaurant. A pleasant walk south of the central market takes you to the Hnee pagoda, in which you will find a 500-year-old bamboo Buddha, and the Shwe U Min pagoda (Shwe Oo Min Paya), a cave filled with golden Buddhas.
