6 Days Mon & Kayin State

This 6 day trip takes you to the south of the country. If you are travelling at this latitude, you’re very unlikely to encounter any other western tourists, because travelling to the deep south of Myanmar means venturing into one of the most untouched corners of South-east Asia! The long and narrow coastline that was once part of the legendary Suvarnabhumi, the “Golden Land”, is home not only to unspoilt beaches, untouched islands and enchanting spots, but also fascinating labyrinths of caves and prominent sanctuaries of the profoundly Buddhist country. In many places, imposing architecture recalls bygone days but also a vehicle fleet, dating back six decades, of legendary Willy Jeeps, colourfully painted Chevrolet trucks and wooden buses; historical routes lead over the border into neighbouring Thailand. Parallel to these allures, it’s important to mention the substantial recent improvements to the tourist infrastructure which is manifested in the form of new hotels and well developed roads.
