The Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival is probably the most well-known celebration on Inle Lake. The Buddha images from the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda are driven around the lake on a lavishly decorated barge, stopping off at every village to provide believers with the opportunity to pay homage. The festival is colourful and full of traditional influences. Traditional dancing and boat races are held - so there’s something here for everyone.
